RETURN OF AMADEUS
Return of Amadeus is based on my interest for matte painting and the concept art illustration. The character of Amadeus on this art piece was a cast from the art series Comedia Del Arte. He was reinterpreted and placed, together with three other imaginary characters in the action setting of a fictional movie.
ONE
This is basically the game with words: one painting is called ONE the other one HUNDRED YEARS AGO. Based on the movie "Jeremiah Johnson" by Sidney Polack.
HUNDRED YEARS AGO
ONE and HUNDRED YEARS AGO are two art pieces that belong to the same installation and refer to one and the same place in nature: ONE is the scenery in a bliss of a single moment while HUNDRED YEARS AGO shows that very same place dissolved through time. The landscapes were created within the same time frame and radiate the identical essence and dynamics. Even though the observer may notice the immediate connection which symbolically reads ONE HUNDRED YEARS AGO – we are looking at two individual art entities integrated in one philosophical context.
The inspiration for these two landscapes came from several scenes from the movie “Jeremiah Johnson” by Sidney Polack. Those scenes of untouched nature and the authentic wilderness originated themselves from the 19th Century Landscape Tradition and the Hudson River School.
